Be Brave Don’t Shave!

Be_Brave_Don't_Shave

Be brave and don’t shave! Until December 1st… then you can shave, and help beat cancer while you’re at it!

When Stephanie from the American Cancer Society contacted me about doing a poster for their “be brave don’t shave” party, I immediately accepted. As many of you know, one of my life goals is to use my time and skills to benefit others, and this project was perfect for helping a good cause. Stephanie described wanting to reach out to local, down-to-earth Madison residents in the Willy Street area which created a fun challenge for me. I chose a flat-toned, bearded vector man donning the urban, lumberjack hipster, plaid button-up to catch the eye of those who may want to help out the most. Who doesn’t love plaid button-ups, anyway?

If the creation of the poster can get one more person to face the razor for this good cause, I’ll know my efforts produced positive results in this world, which is awesome!

If you’d like to join in and help fight cancer, visit relayforlife.org/madisonwi. Thanks again, Stephanie at The American Cancer Society Midwest!

Caribbean Braids

Working with Marcie, owner of Caribbean Braids LLC, has always been a joy. From one small business owner to another, she’s really done a great job of starting a company that provides a great service and has fun doing it. I got to work with her on everything from company branding including logo design and color options to putting up signs for her booth! She’s a great lady and if you ever get a chance to come by Wisconsin Dells, make it a point to stop by her hair braiding booth at the Kalahari Resort. Visit her website (also created by Stacey Samo Design) by clicking here!

Haggard Family Photos

I first met the Haggard family a few years ago while attending Walnut Hill Bible Church. My son, Noah and one of their adorable, blonde-headed, smiley-faced children, Silas, immediately became best friends during Sunday school and children’s church. Ever since then, not only have the boys been inseparable, their entire family has proven to be one of the biggest blessings of my life in so many ways.

I wanted to do something for them to show my appreciation for every minute of babysitting they’ve helped out with, all the last-minute favors granted, and all the wonderful times we’ve had together. I thought-what better way than to give the gift of documenting their family with a priceless and unforgettable photo session! We picked a day and headed off to the park. I was working with a total of two adults, 4 children-including a very uncooperative toddler (it’s ok, Shiloh, we all still love you ;), and two young dogs. It was a blast! I wanted to include a few of my favorites from that day and show what a great idea family photos outside of the studio can be. Schedule your session with me today!

Finding a Gem

Yesterday I performed military honors for a funeral in Saxeville, WI. On my way back home I stopped to fuel up and noticed I was standing right next to a dock on a beautiful lake-which I later learned was Lake Mason in Briggsville, WI. Right next door to my hometown and I never knew it existed! Needless to say, it was beautiful. I parked my car on the gravel path adjacent to the landing dock and walked to the edge. I could see the blue skies, lapping waves, and smell the fresh, lake air. That moment in time was a true gift of God.

Hello world!

Good Day to you all!

Wanted to start off the day right by extending greetings to everyone near, far, and far-er… It’s summer so go out, get some sun, and remember-the grass is not always greener on the other side-unless it actually is 😉 tootles!
